ORVILLE TSINNIE!!

This is a piece of high quality jewelry that came into my shop as part of a pawn package. It is rare that I get a brand new piece of jewelry, especially one made by such a renowned artist! Mr. Tsinnie is one of the very best silversmiths in New Mexico, and indeed in the entire realm of navajo smiths. This is a great watchbracelet which is made to fit a standard mans watch. Has six large cabs of high quality Sleeping Beauty turquoise set in very nice fitting bezels. This one measures about 1 3/8" wide at it's widest point and measures 6" around the inside circumference with an opening of a bit over 1". Fantastic stamping, fitting and all around silver work. Weighs in at a very substantial 110 grams. You won't find a nicer watchbracelet nor one which exhibits a higher quality of workmanship.

Item #301
Would sell this one for $250.00.

This pair of needlepoint zuni bracelets are stunning as you can see in the pictures. These were special made for a small wrist and measure about 5" inside tip to tip with an opening of a bit over 1" on the bottom. Although these bracelets are made for a small wrist, they are huge bracelets. They measure about 3 1/2" in length on the center piece and it is 2 1/4" wide! Needlepoint bracelets are very desirable and to find a matching pair is very rare in this size, quality and condition. The hallmark on these bracelets as shown in the pictures is "DLW" and although I don't know for sure who this is I'm absolutely sure he or she is a gifted craftsman whose work is worth collecting.

Item #302
Would sell these for $240 each or the pair for $450.00.

AND... in addition to the above classy bracelets, here is a matching needlepoint squash blossom necklace. This is a large piece and is made by the same "DLW" maker as the bracelets. These were taken in pawn as a set but I've listed the bracelets seperate in case someone wants to split the batch. The pictures of this necklace speak for themselves This is a large necklace with the Naja measuring about 3" X 2 1/2"! It has 6 lovely blossoms on either side and is strung with old handmade sterling silver beads. One of the nicest needlepoint necklaces you'll find.

Item #303
Priced at only $450.00 takes this one home.

If you've ever seen any of Terry Martinez silverwork you know it is always the highest of quality and he always uses fantastic turquoise. This piece shows fantastic stamping and layout and a gorgeous piece of what appears to be Carico Lake turquoise. A ladies bracelet, measuring about 5 1/2" inside tip to tip and an opening of a bit over an inch. Simply a fantastic piece of silver work and would be a benefit to any collection of Navajo art.You really have to see this bracelet and the turquoise to fully appreciate it!

Item #304
Would sell this one for $220.00.

Thomas Tso jewelry has a very distinctive look. He always uses highest quality stones and his silver work is neat and striking. this piece has 30 graduated rectangular cabs of high quality with baroque style. A piece which would be a show stopper to wear or would upgrade any collection. This one is a bit over 1 1/4" wide at the top and tapering to around 1" wide at the bottom of the stone rows.

Item #305
Would sell this one for $195.00.

Anyone out there looking for a nice cluster Squashblossom necklace at a very reasonable price. As you can see by the pictures, this one is fairly large and hangs lovely and looks great. All authentic Silver and turquoise and am only offering it at this low price because I bought it cheap. A good decent size necklace that would compare at twice the price anwhere else.

Item #306
Priced at only $325.00.

A very nice vintage sterling silver row bracelet with a nice simplicity typical of the older pieces. This one has five sky blue stones with the center stone measuring about 1" X 3/4". The bracelet itself measures 1 3/4" wide at the top and tapers on the ends to about 1 1/4". Inside this one measures nearly 6" inside tip to tip and an opening of about 1 1/4". This would be a fantastic mans bracelet but these are also worn by women. Has some nice leaf work on the bottoms each side as seen in the pictures. Just a nice old bracelet for your consideration.

Item #307
Would sell this one for $195.00.

Another very nice vintage sterling silver row bracelet. This one has seven stones and they are the classic natural ground cabs. This one is almost exactly the same size as the one above except the inside measurement on this one is about 1/4" smaller. These stones look to be old sleeping beauty cabs and it features some nice silver filagree work between the stones. A gorgeous bracelet and would add to any collection.

Item #308
Would sell this one for $195.00

Bola ties are coming back in style and this is a great example of navajo silver art. This bola tie is on woven leather cord with handmade silver tips. The bola itself measures about 2 1/2" tall and about 2" wide. It has three very nice quality turquoise cabs and some lovely leaf work to make the overall piece fantastic. This sterling silver and turquoise Bola doesn't have a makers hallmark but the quality is as good as most who are marked. A great bola tie with a vintage look and feel. The stones look like some of the old Pinto Valley cabs.

Item #309
Would sell this one for $120.00

~~ROANHORSE CLUSTER~~!!

Finding a large navajo cluster bracelet by Roanhorse is fairly rare, but find a matching pair is almost unheard of. These are very large measuring about 3" across the top portion. Heavy silver and immaculate workmanship as with every piece of Roanhorse jewelry. These are collector pieces but would be a real eyecatcher to be worn. I can give you the complete measurements and weight to anyone with a serious inquiry. I have sold single bracelets like this one for $300 and up but to have a matching pair is a real find.

Item #310
Would sell the pair for $600.00.

A very nice zuni style cluster watchbracelet. This is a ladies bracelet and is absolutely brand new. The watch that is shown in the picture is simply set loosely in it and not installed permanently. It does go with the bracelet and I assume it works okay. This bracelet is approximately 5 1/2" tip to tip inside and measures 2 1/2" across the face. A striking sterling watchbracelet and has the hallmark of LF as you can see inside. These are very popular with the navajo women and have made great inroads among collectors and ladies wishing to make a statement.

Item #311
Rock bottom priced at only $140.00!!

This is a huge mans bracelet which is built in the vintage style often found in mens bracelets of the 1950s/1960s. I am not certain as to the age of this one but the appearance is consistent with the vintage pieces. This one measures over 6 1/2" inside tip to tip with an opening at the bottom of around 1 1/4", and would fit a large mans wrist. Measures almost 1 1/4" wide at the top and tapers down to a bit under one inch at the bottom of the stones. Frame built on 4 heavy twist wire and is topped by 13 gorgeous stones which appear to be from Pinto Valley. This one is stamped "sterling" and appears to have a "C" which must be the craftsmans hallmark. A great heavy mans bracelet which shows off strikingly.

Item #312
Priced at only $200.00!!

A fantastic large squash blossom necklace which is hallmarked "LMB" "sterling". According to the "Little Book of Marks on Southwestern Silver" by Bille Hougart this mark is attributed to Lura Moses Begay. This is a large extremely clean necklace with six large squashes and a lovely naja. I would not attempt a guess as to the source of the turquoise but it is well matched and has a great overall appearance.

SCARCE,,SCARCE.... This Vintage watchbracelet was made for me in the 1970s by a well known Navajo silversmith named Danny Lewis. Danny and his brother Kee Bahe live between Dilcon and Indian Wells on the Navajo Reservation and made a good bit of jewelry for me many years ago. It was almost impossible to find a silversmith who would utilize the coyote claws which I obtained from my brother due to their traditional taboos. Finally Danny agreed to make this watchbracelet for me. It has one nice turquoise and one coral cab in either side along with a coyote claw. The watchbracelet is 6" inside tip to tip and measures about 1 1/2" across at it's widest point. All sterling silver and natural turquoise and coral. Danny marked his jewelry with a small * on the back and this one has that mark. I've owned this bracelet for nearly 40 years and it has never had a watch installed or been worn. A quality vintage piece by a great silversmith and a very unique one of a kind item.

Bola ties are coming back in style and this is a great example of navajo silver art. This bola tie is on woven leather cord with handmade silver tips. The bola itself measures about 1 1/8" X 1" which is on the more petite side for bola ties. Bola ties are often worn by women as well and make a classy statement. This one is the raised inlay which is MUCH more difficult to make than the smooth inlay and is much harder to find. A great turquoise and silver bola tie.

This is a bit different than my usual wares but ran into this batch of Vintage Siam Nielloware jewelry. This stuff is fantastic in it's workmanship and is all sterling silver. Most of the pieces are black enamel ware with the cross and one pair of earrings being red enamel. Includes five pair of earrings, one cross pendant, one large pin and the link bracelet. If you've never seen this Siam silver work you'll be amazed at the quality! The cone shaped earrings are especially striking. The weight of all of these sterling silver pieces is about 76 grams. I would sell the whole batch for $120.00 which is not too much above the value of the silver in them.

Item #316
Priced at only $120.00 for the batch.

A nice "Singer style" watchbracelet with the peyote bird design and turquoise chip inlay. These were made very popular in the 1970s by the Singer family and are in demand today. This one never had a watch installed or been worn. Measures 6" inside tip to tip and the width of the piece at it's widest point is about 1 1/2". A nice sterling silver watchbraclet for you to think about.

I see lots of jewelry in my business but very seldom do I run into a cluster bracelet that really impresses me. This one has all of the features of a top grade navajo cluster bracelet. It features fantastic turquoise, heavy silver, impeccable stamping and absolutely perfect layout and finishing. It measures nearly 2 3/4" across the face and about 5 1/2" inside tip to tip. This large cluster bracelst was crafted and hallmarked by E. Wilson who is half of the famous team of Joe and Eunice Wilson. Joe is a Zuni and Eunice is a Navajo, and their pieces almost always show a cross between the two styles as this one does. Sometimes their pieces are stamped J&E Wilson, and other times only one of them sign a particular piece. I have seen a good bit of jewelry by this silversmith and they are ALWAYS top quality workmanship and material.

Item #320

Here is a fantastic cluster squashblossom. This one has some age on it but is not listed as vintage as I'm not sure just how old it is. It is however very true to the style of the old 1940 and 1950s squashblossoms which have mostly been bought up by collectors. It would take a real expert to tell that this one wasn't very vintage without close inspection. It's large, it's beautiful, and has great stones. Collect it, wear it, and enjoy it.

A sterling silver and turquoise vintage Navajo concho belt. This is a belt I've personally owned for many years and am a bit reluctant to put it up for sale as these older belts are getting bought up and are in the hands of collectors. This one has an old style buckle measuring about 2 1/4" tall by about 2 5/8" long. The seven conchos measure about 2 1/4" tall by nearly 3" long. The eight butterlies are the same height as the conchos are and are nearly 1 1/4" wide. Simply a fantastic example of vintage navajo silver work and a real collectors piece.

Item #322
Priced at $795.00.

Another vintage navajo handmade silver conchobelt. This one is smaller but made of very heavy silver which give it a standout appearance. It has the buckle plus 11 conchos. The Buckle measures about 2" X 1 7/8" and each of the conchos measure a bit over 2" long and about 1 1/2" tall. As with the belt above, I've owned this one for many many years and thought to just keep it and pass it on to my kids, but thought I'd sell it and maybe pass the money on. Could not prove it but I'd estimate this one, like the one above was probably made in the 1960s.

This small sterling and turquoise squashblossom necklace is a real beauty. Built on the vintage style seen in many older collections. This piece is not real old but would pass for vintage. It has 10 stamped retangular shaped squashes with a nice turquoise cab in each and a naja with matching stone. This thing looks marvelous when worn and would be at home in most any setting. This one is hallmarked "TB" and "sterling" as seen in the photos. This smith is not known to me but his/her work is superb.

Item #324

Very unique Zuni petite point ladies necklace. This one is a modern design with many of the more classic features. The stones are very nicely matched and the back is marked as you can see "Y sterling". A fairly large piece, especially by Zuni standards and this one shows off beautiful. For those of you who collect zuni work this one would perhaps round out your collection but this piece should be worn as it hangs beautifully.

Item #325

A nice zuni style cluster bracelet. This is a ladies bracelet and appears absolutely brand new. This bracelet is approximately 5 1/2" tip to tip inside and measures about 2" across the face. A great cluster bracelet and has the hallmark of "R. Charley" and "sterling". A gorgeous bracelet with nice matching turquoise stones

Item #326
Rock bottom priced at only $195.00!!

A very nice row bracelet made with high quality baroque turquoise stones set off nicely in sawtooth bezels. It has 13 turquoise cabs which are larger on the top of the bracelet and gradually graduate a bit smaller at either end. This one measures 1 1/4" wide at the top and tapers slightly to about 1" at either end. It measures about 6" inside tip to tip and has an opening of about 1 1/4". Nice work, a great appearance and beautiful turquoise cabs set in sterling silver and hallmarked "E. Spencer", whom I believe to be Esther Spencer who is famous for her work in top stones for special customers.

Item #327
Would sell this one for $195.00.

Super Quality Vintage Cluster!!

A very nice Vintage cluster bracelet. This one is very well laid out and shows the usual patina from years of wearing. I'm guessing this one is circa 1960s or so. Quite large bracelet measuring 2 1/2" across the top. Measures 5 1/2" inside tip to tip with 1 inch opening. The camera makes the turquoise look "washed out" in these pictures but this bracelet is very nice and is definitely the real thing. A nice typical cluster that would be worth a look. Has no hallmark which is not unusual for the older pieces.

Item #328
Would sell this one for $295.00.

Looking at every aspect of this great ring it certainly appears VERY VINTAGE! I see folks advertise here saying a piece was made in the 1960s or 1950s, or... and I'm quite certain they are simply guessing. You judge the age on this spectacular ring for yourself but it is a super piece and has a very unique stone. This is one of several large mens rings I set back many years ago and finally decided to complete the cycle and let them find another home. I apologize that the camera doesn't catch the real beauty of this stone but the matrix and the turquoise are both much deeper and more impressive than the photograph shows. This is a huge ring measuring nearly 1 1/2" long! Weighs in at about 22 grams and has silversmith work that is very typical of many years ago and showing sign of a good bit of wearing. Size 11 finger but could easily be enlarged a size or so if needed.

Item #329
Priced at $85.00.

A great buckle with nice leaf work and two nice turquoise cabs along with a baroque coral cab. This buckle was made by "AHASTEEN" as hallmarked on the back. It has a repair on the buckle swivel but it is solid and of no consequence. This buckle measures 3" X 2.5" and weighs in at a bit over 50 grams. As the pictures show, this is a buckle which shows great silversmithing talent and the layout is clean and pleasing.

Item #330
Priced at $140.00.

Very collectible vintage zuni silver and inlaid turquoise watchband. This one is typical of the 1950s and 1960s style and workmanship. Has the raised inlay which is much more time consuming and much more unique in appearance than the inlay that is sanded smooth. This type of inlay requires that each stone be formed and inlaid individually. This is definitely a collector piece but is solid and classy and should be worn by someone who wants to really show what older zuni workmanship was really like. The stones in this one have aged so perfectly and simply cannot be duplicated any way except through normal aging. The makers hallmark appears to be "Ben B. Morgan". A solid and very collectible piece of vintage zuni inlay work. I certainly would not guarantee it but the stones in this great piece appear to be some old Bisbee which if true would make this one an absolute one of a kind! Quite large watchband, measuring about 1 1/4" across the widest point.

ABOUT PENDLETON & TRADE BLANKETS: Blankets are an integral part of Indian life from birth to death. Blankets are used for both warmth and adornment. Blankets are often given as gifts to celebrate births, marriages and christenings. The Native Americans use blankets in trade to pay off debts, to show gratitude, or to indicate status.

" Indians cradle their babies in blankets, they dance in blankets, and when they die, many are buried in their blankets."

Pendleton has manufactured TRADE BLANKETS for the Native American people since 1896. These blankets come in a wide range of vibrant colors. The blankets we list have all been used and pawned and not redeemed. For many of the Navajo population, pawning their personal items is a way of life.

This is a fairly scarce Pendleton robe with the famous Iroquois Turtle design. This blanket is in great shape and shows little sign of use. This is a very attractive blanket.Made in the United States. This particular blanket measures about 74" X 60" and would make a lovely wall hanger, bed cover, or just enjoy it wrapped around you on cold mornings.
